How It Works: The MetroCard is a plastic card with a magnetic stripe. It can be used on buses and subway trains in New York City. You can add value to it (for Pay-Per-Ride) or purchase unlimited ride options for a specific duration.
Where to Buy: MetroCards can be purchased at subway station vending machines, select storefronts, and online through the MTA website.
2. Pay-Per-Ride Option:
Users can load money onto the card and use it for individual rides.
3. Unlimited Ride Option:
This option allows unlimited rides within a specific time frame (e.g. 7 days or 30 days). It can be cost-effective for visitors planning to use public transportation frequently.
